I am a clinically-trained registered dietitian through the College of Dietitians of Ontario. I am currently in private practice and am also a consulting dietitian to a couple of medical offices as well as a hospital-based clinical trial. I have provided nutrition counselling and support to clients with various health challenges, including but not limited to heart disease, diabetes, digestive issues, cancer, kidney and liver problems, as well as metabolic syndrome. I speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin (functional level).
Being a strong believer in giving back, I volunteer as a dietitian for several charitable organizations. I am also passionate about improving food literacy in the general public and have been invited by the Canadian Liver Foundation, University Health Network and various community groups to deliver nutrition education presentations or webinars.
Prior to my journey into food and nutrition, I was a successful investment professional. When I became aware that our daily food choices and food systems were contributing to global pandemics of chronic diseases, unsustainable dietary habits and social injustices, I felt compelled to contribute to the solution by becoming a dietitian to guide people in making healthier, more sustainable and compassionate dietary choices.”
Was leaving my Bay Street investment career to learn nutrition easy? It was unimaginably daunting, yet immensely rewarding. Among my accomplishments, I was invited to help build the curriculum of a food-systems course at Ryerson University. I co-authored a publication with nutrition professors, and was chosen for a poster presentation at the 2017 Dietitians of Canada Conference. I strongly believe that, through food and nutrition, I can positively change the global pandemics of chronic diseases, unsustainable food choices and social injustices in our food systems.
Health is the most important asset in life. Integrating my MBA from the Schulich School of Business and investment background with my dietetic training, I can help people and corporations make a connection between health and wealth. Improved health leads to fewer sick days, higher productivity, less money needed for medications and drug plans, and more spending dollars to build the future for you, your family, and your company.
I have been plant-powered for over 10 years. Whole-food plant-based (WFPB) eating has been proven to be highly health-promoting; but it does not need to be all or nothing. After all, there are many ways to skin a tomato. It will be my absolute delight to break down nutrition science into bite-sized tidbits to suit your palates and goals. So, let me help nurture health for yourself, your family, your corporation and the planet. Through the healing power of healthy eating, we can all add life to years and years to life. It is more pleasurable, affordable and sustainable than you think!
